Bullying In Any Form.

Things I Witness and Experience

When I got to school I think about seeing my friends, getting work done, and going home. I hate seeing how society has warped our teen life into this horrible stage or phase. Every where in high school you see bullying. You see the boys and girls who don't even have the luxury of having one class free of remarks. Then I see the kids who don't care what they say or do.

Last year I saw a guy make fun of a girl for being a nerd. He harrassed her by calling her his girlfriend and sweet talking her in front of his friends. He made it known he would never actually date her. It was disgusting to watch. I even mentioned to him that it's not funny. "You're making her upset". Nothing. The teacher didn't even have the curtesy to move her seat away from him. People can only do so much.

Today I experienced a small dose of bullying myself. I'm tough enough to overcome it and put it down in writing. I'm not a popular kid. I know a lot of people, but I don't talk to them. I isolate myself with my group of friends so I don't have to deal with others drama. I make it easy on myself.

Today while standing in line a boy came up and cut in front of me. Things like this I don't really care about. This kid had nerve though. when he ran into me, he had the nerve to call me out. I just let it slide off my shoulder. I think back now, maybe I should have stood up for myself? But I could care less what he thinks about me. He then continued to carry on his conversation with friends and say something about me I couldn't hear. Not once did I say anything back, give a dirty look, or anything, but I still got that knot in my stomach.

I feel sorry for those who think they need to look better by doing things like this. Society is getting worse by the minute when it comes to manners and things that should be proper behavior.

I also feel bad for those who can't handle bullying. You can take the time to reach out to somebody if you need to. Also, don't think you're less of a person. Words from others don't deteriorate the soul, only your actions do.

Words of the wise: learn manners, you never know who is going through what. Just the slightest remark can set somebody into a horrible stage. Not everybody can handle it. Just be nice, it'll reward you. By being nice, doesn't mean you can't be powerful.
